Multiple Sclerosis Society names Sanford-Burnham’s Dr. Barbara Ranscht as Researcher of the Year

On March 24, more than 70 multiple sclerosis (MS) research advocates came to Sanford-Burnham in La Jolla, Calif., to learn how our labs are making advancements in the fight against the immune-mediated disease. Pedal the Cause announces new grants to advance cancer research

Pedal the Cause San Diego announced four new research projects to be funded from the proceeds of the second annual event at a press conference held at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center on Friday, March 13. The check presentation, made by Pedal the Cause President and CEO Jim Woodman, drew an excited crowd of former riders, volunteers, sponsors, and cancer advocates eager to find out how their support for this year’s ride will lead to new high-risk, high-reward cancer research. Pedal the Cause San Diego gears up for its second annual ride

Team Sanford-Burnham is gearing up for the big Pedal the Cause San Diego ride this Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 20 and 21). Pedal the Cause, the only multi-day cycling fundraiser to support cancer research in San Diego, provides critical funding to the community’s National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers. As home to three NCI-designated cancer centers, San Diego has long been a powerhouse for cancer research, prevention, and treatment.
