Lauren Mitchell is the Program Manager for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) at Sanford Burnham Prebys, where she oversees a comprehensive communications strategy to drive engagement and experience within the Sanford Burnham Prebys community, identifying opportunities to improve and integrate DEIB efforts in areas such as hiring, training, compensation and performance management.
Lauren also serves as advisor to institute leadership on DEIB best practices and manages implementation of Institute-wide DEIB strategies, programs and initiatives, as defined by the DEIB Council, and in collaboration with the Cancer Center, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and other stakeholders.
Lauren has a Master of Science degree in marriage and family therapy from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and English from Fordham University. She has also trained with the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research.
