7th Annual Rare Disease Day Symposium
Now in its seventh year, the Sanford Burnham Prebys Rare Disease Day Symposium at the Institute’s La Jolla campus offers research knowledge, family support, and one-on-one access to leading rare disease researchers for dozens of families impacted worldwide.
This year, we have invited patient advocate groups CDG CARE, NGLY1.org, and The Grace Wilsey Foundation to join our collaborative event. The CDG Family Conference will be held at the Clarion Del Mar Inn in nearby Del Mar Sunday February 28–Monday February 29, 2016. We will bridge the two meetings with a patient-centric “doctor-is-in†session the afternoon of Saturday, February 27, followed by an interactive networking reception that promotes conversations among scientists, physicians, families and advocates.
Stories in The New Yorker and Der Spiegel last year attest to the symposium’s success at bridging borders in rare disease, and this year will be no different. Join us.
Please note (updated February 23): Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drs. Hood and Eklund will not be able to join the symposium this year. Please see our revised program below. Remaining space in the La Jolla auditorium is limited; late registrations may be wait-listed.
