Jerry is a retired engineering physicist in defense research, a career that spanned 40 years. He specialized in plasma physics for his PhD and, after learning about shock physics, played a critical role in addressing the problem of underground nuclear test containment.
With two colleagues, he founded Pacifica Technology, where he served as president. Pacifica Technology was later acquired by SAIC. Jerry continued his work at SAIC, and inter alia, managed a major upgrade of a seismic monitoring facility in Ukraine for the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization.
He is currently a Council and Curriculum Committee member for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UC San Diego and a board member of his non-profit a cappella chorus Pacific Coast Harmony. He also sings with the Pacific Experience quartet.
