Advancing Research for Multiple System Atrophy

Turning Hope into Discovery

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects movement, balance, and autonomic function. For patients and families, the course of the disease is often rapid and devastating, and therapeutic options remain limited.

The MSA Fund was established by the Ginsburg family to accelerate carefully designed research that deepens our understanding of MSA and advances new approaches toward diagnosis and treatment. The Fund provides a dedicated vehicle for individuals and families who want to make an immediate and meaningful impact on this urgent area of need.

MSA research at Sanford Burnham Prebys draws on the Institute’s longstanding strengths in stem cell biology and neurodegenerative disease research, with analytical and drugdevelopment tools applied as appropriate to the research.
