Sanford-Burnham welcomes two new scientists to Lake Nona

We’re excited to announce that we have recruited two cardiometabolic experts to our Medical City campus in Lake Nona (Orlando), Fla. Peter A. Crawford, MD, PhD, and Andre d’Avignon, PhD, join our Cardiovascular Pathobiology Program from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. The increasing density of local scientists and clinicians in Orlando is accelerating the growth of the region’s bio-medical industry, promoting both economic development and the quality of health care. Pedal the Cause San Diego gears up for its second annual ride

Team Sanford-Burnham is gearing up for the big Pedal the Cause San Diego ride this Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 20 and 21). Pedal the Cause, the only multi-day cycling fundraiser to support cancer research in San Diego, provides critical funding to the community’s National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers. As home to three NCI-designated cancer centers, San Diego has long been a powerhouse for cancer research, prevention, and treatment. Sanford-Burnham welcomes five new Trustees

We’re excited to announce the election of five new members to our Board of Trustees. The Board will grow to 21 members with the addition of the new trustees.

The intern life: Meet Christina Lee

High-school graduate Christina Lee has spent the last three and half months learning firsthand what it’s like to work at the lab bench in a major medical research institution. After graduating from Canyon Crest Academy in June of this year, Christina has spent this summer – before packing for college – interning in our NCI-designated Cancer Center with Jorge Moscat, PhD, and Maria Diaz-Meco, Ph.D., of the Cell Death and Survival Networks Program.
