DMF Talks, the Del Mar Foundation’s unique version of TED Talks, draws its speakers from the exceptionally deep bench of locally based creative, intellectual and scientific leaders.

Launched in 2012, DMF Talks aims to entertain, inspire, and inform the Del Mar community (and other local communities) through a series of free presentations.
 

A Light at the End of the Tunnel?

The coronavirus pandemic has altered the world immeasurably since we first heard of an outbreak in Wuhan, China, in January 2019.  

Now, one year later, COVID-19 has touched every corner of the globe, changing life for all of us. Please join us for a fascinating talk from two of the top scientists at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute who have been on the frontline of the pandemic, working tirelessly to understand this novel virus and find effective treatments that will save lives. They will present a brief overview of the research findings to date, discuss where we are now and provide their expert opinion on the vaccines that will soon be available. Finally, they will discuss the necessity of ongoing coronavirus research, which will be vital so we can rapidly respond to future outbreaks.
