Please join us for an exciting program and panel presentation inspired by the Group of 12
It’s one of the most serious health crises facing us – Cancer.
In your lifetime, you will probably know several people with cancer. It’s the second leading cause of death in the United States and will directly affect one in two men and one in three women. Unfortunately, age is the biggest risk for developing most cancers.
At Sanford Burnham Prebys our researchers are working tirelessly, gaining critically important insights into the biology of aging—and why it puts us at risk of cancer. Working collaboratively with clinicians from UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, our researchers take a unique approach to discovering the next cancer treatments by using patient data to inform their research.
Join Us
We will present a special panel conversation on Aging and Cancer for the San Diego community. Join us as we take a deep dive into the connection between aging and cancer and learn more about a current breast cancer research collaboration. One in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, occurring mostly in women who are 50
years old or older. We’ll share the cutting-edge cancer research we do at Sanford Burnham Prebys that’s guided by clinical practice, and how patients can reciprocally benefit from our laboratory discoveries.
